I hope to share my passion for dogs and especially German Shepherd Dogs in everything I do. From the way I live my life and share my home with them, as well as how I feed, raise and train them. Every dog I have has a place in my heart and has taught me something. My dogs help raise my next generations, help raise dogs for others and they are my best friends. I take placing my dogs and puppies very seriously and do not just part with them to just anyone. I like to ensure my placements are forever homes and that I am placing the right puppy with the right home so that they will be able to enjoy each other for many years. I want my puppies to be happy and bless their new homes, and want their new homes to be able to enjoy just the type of dog they were searching for, or even introduce them to new German Shepherd things! I love sharing the breed and the amazing things they can do with everyone! The loyalty, companionship, protection and charisma they bring is unmatched!

Founder of Bauernhof German Shepherds
I decided to start a German Shepherd kennel after professionally training dogs for years, and then finding the sport of Schutzhund. The desire and need for German Shepherd Dogs of my personal preference of type, temperament and working ability needed in my area sparked my desire to begin breeding for what I wanted in a dog.
I run a small hobby kennel, focusing the majority of my time on my German Shepherd Dogs. As a dog trainer first, I feel it is of utmost importance to get a puppy off to the right start from the day they are born. I have a puppy program for the litters to encourage confidence, build up the ability to handle stress and expose them to as many different surfaces and obstacles as possible. I prepare them for their entire lives in the first few weeks. This creates a very well-rounded German Shepherd puppy making a fantastic candidate in a working home or as an active companion for a family. Puppies are started in litter box and potty training when they are very young to promote a clean puppy. Puppies are then started on crate training before they leave for their new homes. If puppies have to fly, special care is taken to build them up around the crate they need to fly in.
Bauernhof German Shepherds is a small hobby kennel to ensure each adult and puppy gets the dedicated time to their training, fulfillment, enrichment, socialization, interaction, exercise and health. Bauernhof prefers to train and title my dogs to gain a complete understanding of what my dogs have to offer to my breeding program. Breeding only a select few litters a year allows me the ability to thoroughly evaluate puppies as they grow so I can match puppy and buyer for complete compatibility. With the small amount of litters, this means I may not always have puppies available. I choose to keep a waiting list to be called when puppies are born, and deposits to be placed on puppies for a place in line.
I try to keep in contact with all of our puppy buyers to have a very good idea of what I’m producing and how my litters are turning out. I care deeply about each puppy I produce and I want to make sure I’m doing everything in my power to continue improving my lines. Keeping in close contact allows me to observe the development of the puppy, the health of my lines, and most importantly the temperament. I encourage all of my puppy buyers to health test their puppies (DM, Thyroid, Hip & Elbow, etc.) to help join in my breeding program and let me know the results so I can use that valuable information in my breeding choices. I also greatly encourage you to stay active with your puppies and share with me all of your accomplishments. A breeding program requires the help of all of the puppy buyers along with the breeder to become successful. I consider my puppy buyers a big part of my family and program and offer support for the life of the dog.
My goal is to continue a line of strong, stable, hard working and wonderful companions to continue training and titling in our free time, while inviting others to join our family. My first priority is temperament and health, followed closely by a utilitarian working ability. Utilitarian working ability allows my dogs to be clear-headed and ready to do any job their owners chooses for them; companions, sport dogs, agility dogs, you name it! I enjoy raising German Shepherds as a hobby and only produce dogs that I would be proud to call my own. I also ask that all of our puppy buyers return their dog to me if they can no longer keep it. I will take back puppies from our breeding program at any time no matter what.
When my puppies are placed into homes they come with AKC registration, pedigree, microchip or tattoo, health guarantee, contract, breeder support for the life of the dog, puppy instructions on diet & training, and as many answers as you have questions!
